Meghan Josey
MACP Practicum Student
My goal is to provide a non-judgmental, empathetic and calm therapeutic space where clients feel understood and safe to explore their lived experience and goals, collaboratively. I value a combined focus on physical and mental health, as I believe the two compliment one another; increasing innate personal strengths and fostering a life of balance and joy. I believe finding your personal small joys in the mundane is a key part to a fulfilling life.
I value an integrated approach, pulling from multiple therapeutic models, to meet clients where they are and support a client in strengthening resilience, self-esteem, self-compassion, emotional regulation and promote fulfilling interpersonal relationships.
As a student therapist, I am currently exploring components of emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and attachment-based therapy with an inclusion of nervous system regulation.
Nicole Baldwin
MACP Practicum Student
I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria; and currently, I am in my practicum for Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Throughout my career, I have honed my skills in collaborating with community resources and utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to address behavioral and mental health concerns among youth and families. My experience includes working with teens and young adults impacted by trauma, lack of adequate housing, family violence, addiction, sexual exploitation, attachment issues, generational trauma, and loss. I have supported clients navigating complex systems, including those involved in the youth/adult criminal justice system. I have spent years working within Indigenous communities and continue to enhance my cultural competence through ongoing learning opportunities. I firmly believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I meet clients where they are and employ an integrative approach drawing from various modalities to best support each client’s individual needs.
Ruth Shelton
MACP Practicum Student
Ruth holds a Master of Science in Psychiatry Research and a BA (Hons) in Psychology, and is currently completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology. Her academic and research background reflects a strong commitment to understanding the complexities of mental health, emotional well-being, and the lived human experience.
Ruth brings experience in research, mental-health education, and evidence-informed approaches to emotional regulation, self-worth, resilience, and holistic well-being. She is particularly passionate about creating a supportive, grounded, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel understood and empowered in their healing.
Ruth values warmth, authenticity, and presence in her work. She also draws personal inspiration from nature and from the calming companionship of her pets, both of which help her stay balanced and connected, qualities she hopes to bring into her work with clients.
Crystal George
MACP Practicum Student
I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Maine, a Master of Education in Leadership from Memorial University, and a degree in Technology Integration.
With over 20 years of experience supporting adolescents, families, newcomers, and school teams in the education sector, I bring a wealth of skills in observation, assessment, and relationship-building. My work as an educator has strengthened my ability to understand individual needs, provide tailored support, and collaborate effectively with adults and teens. These experiences
have deepened my understanding of social and emotional development and equipped me to help clients navigate challenges with compassion and practical strategies.
My therapeutic approach is an integrated blend of evidence-based methods designed to help clients gain self-awareness and develop practical, real-world skills to navigate their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours effectively. Grounded in trauma-informed and culturally relevant practices, I focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where every client feels genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
I view behaviour as a form of communication and prioritize building strong, supportive relationships that honour each client’s unique lived experience. By meeting clients where they are, I aim to empower them to explore challenges, develop meaningful skills, and build resilience in ways that align with their individual needs and strengths.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time in nature and with my family, which reminds me of the importance of balance, connection, and presence. These values inform my own well-being and guide how I support clients in cultivating stability, resilience, and meaningful growth in their lives.

Emma Beaudoin
MSW Practicum Student
My name is Emma, and I’m a student currently completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Waterloo. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Saint Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University. My academic and professional journey has shaped a strong interest in understanding people within the broader contexts of their lives, systems, and lived experiences
My approach to practice is person-centred and grounded in a holistic lens. I believe that healing looks different for everyone, and it’s essential to meet people where they are. In therapy, I see my role as walking alongside clients as they navigate their unique journeys. I value collaboration, curiosity, and the creation of a safe, non-judgmental space.
I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, strengths-based practice, attachment-informed work, and trauma-informed perspectives. I aim to integrate mind, body, and environment in my work, recognizing that many interconnected factors influence well-being.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my rescue husky Nanook, relaxing at the beach whenever I can, and indulging my love for all things Disney. These parts of my life help keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of joy, connection, and balance.
Change can be uncomfortable, especially when you’re facing it on your own. My intention is to hear your story, explore where disconnection may be present, and work together toward a way forward that feels right for you.
I look forward to our work together.
