MACP, RCT-C

Meghan Josey is registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists as a Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate.  She holds a BA in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, and a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

The foundation of Meghan’s work is in the belief that every individual has innate strength, resilience and self-compassion amidst the chaos and emotional challenges that life can present.  She focuses on helping clients reconnect with these innate traits, fostering space for growth, meaningful change and connection to a fulfilling life, whatever that may look like for each individual.

She works with adolescents (12+), individuals and couples navigating concerns of emotional regulation and anger, communication, life stressors, self-esteem, conflict resolution, anxiety, depression and relational concerns.

Meghan focuses on fostering a safe space through connection, to allow for the work to be done.  She tailors her approach to each client’s unique experience and needs, pulling from Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy (CBT),and Emotion-focused therapy (EFT).  She also incorporates somatic elements into work with clients, recognizing that the mind-body connection plays a role in a multitude of concerns.

In her personal time, Meghan enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and any activity relating to sunrise or sunset!
