About Us

Brightside Integrated Health is here to help

With nearly 20 years of experience, Brian MacAulay has a varied background working with individuals, couples, youth, and families providing support in such areas as: general stress, anxiety, and depression, domestic violence, physical injury and disability, grief and loss, family counselling, crisis counselling, abuse and trauma.

Brian truly believes in a holistic approach to health, which is why he built a team of highly experienced professionals to form Brightside Integrated Health … with the goal of improving your mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Brian is here to support you through change with a compassionate approach. An active listener, he’s not afraid to give homework when it promotes your personal growth in between our sessions. While counselling – and change in general – can be tough and emotionally exhausting at times, Brian holds a safe space for you to be yourself and tell your story.

Helping First Responders

He has firsthand experience working closely with First Responders. If you have worked on the front lines as a paramedic, firefighter, member of the military or police and are seeking counselling, please reach out. We can work through past trauma in the line of duty, including PTSD. Brian has provided assessments for the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs and is able to provide assessments for various courts in Nova Scotia.
